"My Life with the Salmon"

Sat, 2014-08-30

The Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre is excited to announce an upcoming visit and presentation from our very own North Island award winning author, Diane Honey Jacobson!

Jacobson will be reading from her recently published novel, "My Life with the Salmon" touching on her experience as a Namgis First Nation working with salmon. Jabobson has dedicated the book to her dear friend and fellow co-worker that the Gwani Hatchery, Bert Svanvik. Jacobson reflects on how Svanvik's "love for salmon and the 'Namgis valley, along with his natural ability to make learning fun for all," was instrumental to her writting the book. It is now her goal to introduce readers of "My Life with the Salmon" into the ('Namgis) world to build a similar love and appreciation for the salmon as a valued natural resource and the home inwhich they live.

Join Jacobson and Salmon Centre staff!

Saturday, August 30th, 2014, 1-3 pm.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.
